Soldiers Reunion
The Old Soldiers Reunion, or as it’s been called since 1930, The Soldiers Reunion, is one of the longest running
events of its kind in the United States. Almost every year since 1889, during the third week in August, veterans
gather together for a week of celebration. There are only two years during which the event was not held, 1944 and
1948, due to polio outbreaks.
The week starts on Saturday with Jamdango, then on Sunday with vintage and classic cars cruising around the
streets of Newton, North Carolina, and ends the following Thursday with a parade. In between, there is street
dancing, a memorial service, speeches by visiting dignitaries, and other festivities.
Join us this year as we gather to honor America’s veterans, and share in the fun.
